Re: CCT

I have a feeling that anyone who sent me a card other than family probably sent it to last years email address even though I warned people.  If anyone sent any email to Yahoo.com it will not get to me--ever.  Anyone who wants to send me anything via ethernet must send it to brosesagain@gmail.com.  I do appreciate any kind or funny thoughts and I love all people here on Blogit.  Some of you have been my friends for many years.

Well Taps I must have caught the wrapping bug. Every year I go around pushing boxes of chocolates into eager hands but this year I though I would wrap them i have just done twelve parcels it took me an hour and a half, but at least I know which are the better ones for those who respond to the best of their ability. Please don't forget to open Uncle Albert's card, he keeps asking if you received it.

Re: Ciel

Pretty fabrics sounds like fun.  I think I remember you mentioning it back when you bought it and I liked the idea then liked the idea.

Re: I used to love making the gifts look gorgeous, and there were times

You actually make wrapping sound fun again.  Long ago when crepe paper was in vogue for crafts, I used to make little crepe paper flowers to decorate packages.  That was fun.  Do they still have crepe paper?

I used to love making the gifts look gorgeous, and there were times

when people saved the wrap and ribbons. These days I buy the bargain printed paper and don't take so much time designing. In 2018 I plan to save Cheerios boxes and others that will be the right size to hold gifts and make the wrapping easier. I'm planning to do craft projects out of painting the "gift boxes" and using stencils to decorate them. Crocheted items can be scrunched in to fit...

You aren't too old for Christmas, you are just one who realizes what Christmas means. It's not the glitter or the glitz, the food and bake-offs, though that's nice. It's a quiet sense of love and wonder, perhaps, with some kindness thrown in. Never too old for that, sweet lady!

Simple is good!  I will use some of the Indonesian and African fabrics I write about a few weeks ago, for wrapping gifts, knowing that it won't become trash and is part of the gift.

A plain paper bag with a pretty ribbon on it is nice, too.
