Pat
My one SIL feels the same as you about this topic. Not the other SIL, though. I'd still be giving Santa gifts to my girls - wait, maybe I still do...

ha ha I always made sure the biggest gift was from Mum and Dad and Santa filled the stockings and small gifts.
Today at 47 & 49 we still never discussed Santa...I always thought they were scared that I might stop the gifts. LOL

Re: Pat,
Totally on your side on that argument. I think most parents have no clue on this one. Babies scream when forced to sit on the old guy's lap--I just heard about a tot who used his sign language to tell his parents he was uncomfortable with Santa! But parents will do the Santa thing!

Well Pat a sad little Christmas story was told to me by an old gent, he hung up his stocking and early Christmas morning before it was light he felt a present in his stocking.
Dawn broke and he eagerly withdrew his longed for present. It was a toilet roll.
PS. I bet it was not even a nice soft one.

I myself was nine when my Dad had the Santa Talk with me. I remember my high school mentor teacher having students write papers about Santa. It was all very interesting to me.
