These wildfires have been something these days...I did not know that about wildfire being two syllables.
On the subject of haikus, I know a lot of times the Japense ones translated into English end up having more syllables.

Thank you, TAPS. Yes, it is very sad. The worst story I saw was of a guy who just lost his wife a couple weeks ago, and then lost his entire home. Really touching.
