Sorry Pat B - my hours are all mixed up. I must have read this post early yesterday morning (like around 4 or 5 AM), and when I popped in again last night I see the same post, so thought maybe something was wrong. This insomnia and the extra hours on my plate is catching up to me! My bad.

Thanks for the suggestion about Skype. I'll mention it to Michelle. This might be a thing the university could do - I believe they do offer online courses.

This sounds great!
One pitfall which can be quickly and adroitly handled in an in-person class or group is the 'shmooze factor.' It is how sites like this that start out as, essentially, writer-workshops, turn into social sites. I can see how it could be a problem with any kind of online group. But maybe the stay-homes can be included via Skype?
