A very interesting read. I think that anytime a woman has been divorced, they are always interested in the divorce of friends or relatives, and in knowing how it turned out....can't help but be interested and making comparisons, even if only to oneself.

Go on Pat you were still a softy at heart. He was lucky to have had such a tolerant wife.
Perhaps you felt mad at him at the time who wouldn't, but you were very kind to him eventually.

Your divorce ended up being quite an ordeal. It was great that you were finally able to get rid of him...I would have probably snickered myself.

Yes, a smile, most definitely. You could afford generousity at that point, both emotionally and monetarily. Hah! You were certainly validated in Court, and did the right thing by getting a divorce. But it must have been very difficult to go through that, finding a job, getting a car, then selling your house and moving. But it was all better than your other option of staying as you were. Good for you! BTW, I remember Phyllis Diller referring to her ex...
