Reading you after a long time. I have respects for the King Bhumibol. That name sounds Indian somewhat. Roughly translated it means earth-speak in Hindi. Hope you're well and so is your mom, too. Cheers.

CCT and FSI

Yes, the future of Thailand will probably be better than I fear.  And the common folk are usually unaffected by the antics of the military and political leaders.  King Bhumibol tried to stay above it all,  gently supporting the side that was best for Thailand, and gently opposing the other side.  No telling what this new king will do.  So far, I think he is not causing any trouble, that I know of.

He was a great man from what I had read. About a decade ago, I remember when there was a coup in Thailand. Some Loyola College students were there, studying abroad.

Kabu

Hauling logs is a very respectable line of work,  for elephants or humans.  We humans work hard for our livings, to serve others......  why shouldn't animals have the same privilege? The whole "animal rights" movement is perverted and wrong, over-reacting to extremes, being extreme itself,  so does not understand this point.

better I expect than to be hauling logs or working as some have to do. Interesting post
