I'm afraid forecasted earnings can be a bit weird, so it's best not to rely on them.
As an example, if a person subscribes and then reads only one writer, it may make it look like the entire reader payment is going to that writer, but if that reader looks at some other writers' blogs, each writer will get a significantly lower portion.
This can make the forecast jump around a lot.
To confirm, I did check the list of your readers this month, and it didn't look drastically different from last month.
I did find an issue that can sometimes cause forecasts to not update every day, and will be fixing that. This might have caused it to look more like the forecast is randomly jumping around.
