Love you and I wonder if you know how supportive you are and how warm and cared about when I visit your post or you visit mine.

Re:Naut
You're welcome. Yes, those recipes seem good, especially that Tuscan cake! We do get chestnuts here, though a bit later on. I've never researched which ones are the best, but I'll guess that those from Italy are right up there, judging from how versatile they have been.

Re: Kabu
My dad spoke of roasted chestnuts that they'd have a Christmas time. They must have been fun to eat in Athens. Yes, nights are coming on faster and faster, and you have a full plate. Take care, S. Sisster. And thank you.

Re: Wow sis, you make me hungry
There are many different kinds of chestnuts. I imagine those in Italy are different than those of Hopkins' trees, though we don't know. Here they are smooth and dark. The link for the Tuscan chestnut cake looks tasty. Italy has great food. Thank you, Aba, as always.

Wow sis, you make me hungry
Chestnuts when they fall from the heights, break up, revealing its red insides that look like burning charcoal. I haven't ever seen a chestnut but this is what I gathered from Hopkins's poem Pied Beauty. It says 'fresh firecoal chestnut falls, finches' wings/ landscape plotted and ploughed - fold falls and plough . . .' I'll probably go to Italy next December and find out all Italian delicacies to savor

Thanks for your good wishes! And I love those recipes - all I have to do now is find some good chestnuts, not common around here...

We used to find the odd sweet chestnut in the old woods, as kids we loved them. Interesting blog.
