Yes Strat the trouble is we have lost that ability to be aware of danger. A little bird pecks and looks, when it loses that ability it is curtains. If we had that ability your dear wife would have jumped backwards three feet I expect, on seeing the snake although it might have knocked a poor old person over. `

A very deep post this one. loved it. I am a snake lover so I am glad the black runner did just that. We have snakes living around the house here, all harmless and very cute.
I couldn't help thinking as I read into this post, the lack of reading the signs that wealthy German and Australian Jewish people held as the 1930's progressed. Safe in their beautiful homes with their long pedigree of social standing, they just refused to accept that what was happening could ever touch their lives.
