I had not heard of that..... you mean that electronic items inside a microwave oven would not be disabled by the EMP blast?

I have been worried about the EMP attack for decades..... Russia or China could have done it. I am not sure the N Korea warhead would be powerful enough to knock out the electronics of the entire USA, but even one region would be horrific enough, say, a 300 or 400 mile radius from the blast. Enough to knock out an entire large state.
I think we have the counter-measures to stop any ICBM headed toward the USA, but even if we blew it up outside the US, it might knock out a big part of one coast.
The whole thing is quite scary. We could end up with a slug-fest of EMP missiles flying back and forth from Korea, China, Russia, Europe, and the USA. Some missiles would get through, and some of us would be knocked back to the Stone Age.
So stock up on guns, ammo, knives, batteries, water, water filters, survival food, fire-starters, etc.......

I'm way behind the times, LOL - the only dystopian novels I know are Brave New World and 1984. And I'm not up on the latest tech weaponry either - but this is damn scary! I wonder if the boys at the Pentagon have considered the possibility of that kind of attack...
