I am so sorry for your loss. You have your memories of him and the lessons taught. God bless and help you through this.

I too am sorry for your loss......we all eventually come to realize that wanting someone suffering to hang on for us, is wrong.   The suffering ends and the wonderful memories begin, strengthen and remain in our hearts.

I just spent 40 minutes.......

reading down through your posts and was glad to realize just how much fun it is reading your posts.......you've got a marvelous sense of humor, with the skill of a great fisherman.  You give us the bait, set the hook, and reel us in with your closings.  Don't ever stop!

Oh, Strat, you have drawn tears from me... I'm so sorry for your loss. I, too, lost my uncle to the Devil Beast of Parkinson's, and he was also a high flier, so I 'get' what you're saying. Your uncle was a blessing to you and your family in that he showed you what it is to soar! And I love that poem...

Sorry for your loss, Strat.  I lost my grandmother to parkison's, and my mom to alzheimer's.  It was hard watching these two important ladies in my life have both their mind and body decline in front of me.

A very nice tribute to your Uncle!

Yes it is a lovely poem and I truly hope this gentleman can now soar as high as the poem suggests. A really nice tribute you have paid to his memory.
