Yes, we must. They never stop needing us. Here's the latest medical report. I have more details. He is in PICU. They have in his skull put 2 titanium plates. The nose of the surfboard gashed his skull inward at his forehead. There were 2 air bubbles but it seems the brain was not damaged. He did well in his cognitive tests today.Wax from the surfboard, sand, sea water, bone, tissue and blood were cleaned out. Lots of blood in his hair and all over. They took him by ambulance and I remember hearing the ambulance from my house. I didn't go see him cause they said I needed a mask. It could have been so much worse. I go to the doc Thursday to try to get meds to clear this sinus infection up. Oh, not that it matters, but it wasn't his fault!

Oh, I'm so happy he is doing well and recovery is on the way. We must love our children while we can for life is tenuous at best.

Thank you, dearest Kabu! It's been a rough and stressful one. The poor child is in PICU but is doing okay. I have a sinus infection and didn't want to chance going there today. My caring (!) doc said I could go and just ask at the nurse's station for a mask! Right! Like they'd say that was just fine...

Thank you very much, CC. Every bit helps, I believe. It's been a long, long day. He's a fearless kid, jumped off cliffs in Hawai, was thrilled to catch and release a baby shark, does community service, plays baseball and surfs on a team that won State championship this year at his level, and also is in a surf club, all while usually acing his grades. As does his twin do likewise. But all that means nothing when one just hopes he lives and recovers. Life is so precious.
