years ago, Acker Bilk came into my fancy dress shop in North london and I hired him an arab costume. He was really nice.

I can't remember when I've heard "Stranger on the Shore,"
but it's always touched me with sweet melancholy. Perhaps it coincides with forgotten
arrivals or departures. Reminds me of "Red Sails in the Sunset." Perhaps the sense
of being between a solid and a liquid plane.
