It used to be an extreme idea that one could see the party at
the other end of the phone line, the stuff of sci fi. I don't think - except for the exception of the Dick Tracy wrist radio - anyone seriously thought we could actually do that while "disconnected" and walking around in the world while face-to-face talking at long distances. AI was kind of a nightmare possibility. (Maybe it still is.)

I did not realize how big of a concern this was in Japan. Things are changing quite rapidly.
I know some people rumble about placing the home umpire in baseball with a computer to call balls and strikes.
