As Department Chair sounds like he could and would do as he pleased, so to speak. But leaving the class unattended? Glad you corrected your name, though.

i cannot say that I would have left the class. Obviously he had some special skills.

Yes it is a wonder who gets to teach kids. I suppose they must have passed some kind of third degree.

 My 7th grade social studies teacher told great stories too. However, he gave ne detention once. "Do you want to be one of the boys Billy?" I think I lent a pen in class. This happened with my English class teacher, "I am a very strict teacher, strict but fair" I think they used reversed psychology because I was shy.
