- Go to I Do Not Like Cortana
My husband & I have had our smartphones for two years & they came with Cortana. I don't mind her. I don't tend to use her much, though. I prefer to search answers out on my own. I suppose if she was able to accomplish that quicker, I might use her services more often. Maybe I should check out her capabilities. I'm inquisitive by nature & love to learn about & understand, pretty much, everything. That would include Cortana.

Re: RPresta
I was trying to hold out too, but somehow they caught me off guard. At that time I did not know you could get it reversed for 30 days. It was well past that when I found that out.

I am not to keen on these bots either. That is why I have always held out downloading Windows 10 and remain on version 7.

I am trying to hold out until 10 goes away. I don't like it. And I wouldn't like that bot thingy.

Like you I don't like and don't want bots. But I possibly have some good news for you: After my latop had been 'infected' with 10 without my doing, my computer guru told me the process can be reversed during a period of 30 days following the date of the change. And he did it for me!
Mind you, I've got 8.10 in my laptop, but I would imagine it works with 7 as well. Do discuss it with your computer guru...

Every time my laptop would try to download Windows 10 I would stop it. I still don't want it, but I'm sure I will have no choice when I decide to get a new laptop. I'm like you I'd rather figure things out than hae a scary looking bot talk to me. lol
