Good one, LOL. On the other side of that coin, there is the popular lie by the woman, who tells her man don't worry, I am on 'the pill' so I can't get pregnant..... until she wants to 'hook' her man with a baby, so she goes 'off the pill' and doesn't tell him!

Reading your shared knowledge is enlightening, reading most of the responses is frustrating. Some don't get it, others bury their heads in the outback sand. THE MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE WORLD LIES TO THE WORLD, again and again.

I feel that as time marches onward, people will come to see just how severe the lie ended up being. Right now, I believe that those who understand that it is a lie do not comprehend yet how severe the consquences will be.

A very interesting post here, about the vital subject of LYING
I recently wrote in a post, that we all lie to some extent, and that we must sometimes lie, to protect goodness or defeat evil.

I agree with the arguments of Kabu and RP, that the biggest political lie ever told, was by the Nazis against the Jews, by intention, word, and action. This lie resulted in the most intensive killings of Jews in concentration camps. Even Mohammed did not conceive of this massive killing system.
The religiously-sanctioned lies of the Muslims are an ingenious addition to the arsenal of lies, and they run a close second to the Nazis, in my humble opinion. These religious Muslim lies are, of course, very useful in a political way, as well.
And I would submit to you the third greatest political lie in history, which I previously thought to be the absolute greatest, but I think now I was wrong.
It was the lie of Mao Tse-tung in his "Hundred Flowers Campaign" of 1956 in Communist China. While this lie was not as extensive as the Nazis or Muslims, nor did it kill more people, I still think that this lie might be the most notable in all history, in terms of its craftiness and betrayal....... it's genious in responding to the specific situation. Rather than describe it here, I will post about it very soon. Cheers

For the sake of discussion only, I do believe you are on the right track. Not to minimize what you are saying, I only respond because I like the bait! LOL! In other words, I can't shut up.
Consider this: in a manner of speaking, there may be a great tacit lie of consequence regarding Nazi Fascism, as seen through the Nazi eye and presented to the populace, that may not have been entirely secular in nature, which resulted in extremely negative consequential actions. At least, for me, many of the consequential actions resulting from a huge Nazi untruth appear to have some non-secular undertones.
Why were those chosen to be exterminated, exterminated? In my understanding, as a part of the tacit Nazi lying ideology, victims were incorrectly identified as being inferior; criminal and/or disagreeable, implying that the exterminating group was superior, and would remain superior. And why were the exterminators superior? The Nazi ideology may have convinced the populace and themselves that the answer lie partially in a non-secular answer. Regardless, it is the tacit lie, inferiority of a group or groups, unheard but unmistakable, that screams out to me, and it was a lie of consequence, at least to Jews, Gypsies, and many others.
Also, we must remember that perhaps the biggest lie of consequence could be the one of which we are not yet aware, a truth remaining to be discovered, whatever it may be... Hope this makes a bit of sense. Whew! I'm done. And yes, I'll probably read the book. Grazie, Naut! :)

I get your point, RP! However: We were speaking of consequential lies, not so much consequential actions. And although the Nazis lied a lot, what made them so deadly in the end were their actions!
Moreover, while the Nazis had a secular ideology (secular Fascism), Islam is a divinely ordained Fascism! In fact, Abdel-Samad has written a book called Islamic Fascism! You should read it...

For me the biggest lie was the one that the Germans used to hide from a not very caring world and to trick the Jewish people into becoming incinerated in what was the most horrendous and successful accomplishment. Millions of people across Europe and That is still for people like you and I who were born in that era our time. And it should never be forgotten.
