Transitions... from happy together to happy on your own again... Sounds like you handled it masterfully! And I am also glad for you that the divide is only half an hour either way!

Poignant and so well told. It was like I was there watching you, the doggies and Miko. It's good they are still fairly close. Good post.

Great post. Changes are always difficult to make and to get used to. But, you seem to do it well whenever it happens to you.

when Mikayla had to leave for the 5 hr drive from Sydney to the bush she ould cling...arms toight around my neck legs arouubnd my waist and head tight into my neck. Her Father would pry her away and I would run back inside to cry. DIL would ring me when Mikayla stopped screaming which could take 3 hours and ask me if I was alright. No of course I wasn't. LOL.

I know you're smiling because they're all within half an hour of you,
and it's great to have your space again, except.... I think your doggies take their cue from you, and that's why they love the ones you love. Hugs!

Touching - a bit sad, of course, but also very sweet. Bonds between children and dogs can become very strong, and I'm sure Sam will be as delighted the next time he sees Miko as you will be. They're not really far, and with your doggies you'll bever be lonely anyway...And of course I wish your son and his family all the best in their new home...
