Such a very interesting comment here that you've made. So many components. I would love to hear more of Waterloo and Gypsies on ships and your aunties. Yes, it appears to be true about someone being a Gypsy on my mom's side.

Well you might be nearer to one than you think RP. I knew a couple of gypsy girls who married GIs and returned to USA on the Queen Mary. Sadly your Gypsy Lady is rather unique . As a rule they always seemed to be well wrapped and not so inviting. Of course your strain may have had different attributes and believe me my old Aunts always said their was Gypsy blood in the family and of course the lady from the battlefield of Waterloo. Nevertheless you made a good call on this one, providing a little excitement no less.

Yes, brother Aba, I felt a sisterhood with something in this picture, calling me. I saw an old photo online tonight of a Gypsy woman, and she so resembled my mother. Talks abound about her side; all way out there, like being descended from everyone from Hapsburgs to Gypsies! But it's in the soul, that's all I know! Thank you!
