Annicita

I've had years of Latin in high school and wouldn't wanted to have missed it! It makes all these other strange languages like Italian, French and Spanish somehow accessible, even if I'm not very good in any of them...

Mystery is always seen as important, One must be careful not to discover what it means.

In eighth grade, we got to choose between taking Latin or Journalism. I went with journalism because of the writing aspect. A lot of people who took Latin regretted it because the teacher taught it at an advanced level when no one had taken it before.

Mass being said in Latin was before my time. Churches will still do it if there is an interest.

I remember Latin at church...

The only thing I can always remember for sure in Latin is "In Hoc Signo Vinces."
It means,"In This Sign You Will Conquer."  There was a big old stone catholic church near where we lived with the bust stop in front of the church.  Waiting for it every day, I couldn't help but read the Latin inscribed on the large cornerstone.  Somewhere along the way I looked it up to see what it meant and never forgot it.
