Re: shamasehar

Yes I was only a young boy, I had to Leave school at 14 to help my father, he was not very strong as he had suffered pneumonia 3 times and there was no remedy at that time.

I loved both the gardening and flat wine, of course I loved the goat story. I miss being here and seeing your work more often. George said hello.

Re: Re: RPresta

Hah!, no it's just a name. It should have been okay. People have different palates, even judges... I like French, Italian and some Australian wines.

There has been a lot of hot weather as of late...A very interesting story about getting the goat. We never had that kind of a pet.

Re: RPresta

Now you tell me RP , Does it mean they still tread the grapes with bare feet? Actually it reads on the label. Gold Medal Ultimate Challenge 2014.I expect I bought it as I like some countries better than others.

Re: I cannot think of it being so terribly steamy in the UK - I think of it

Pat it was so humid we are in the centre only see seagulls on the waste pit.

I got fed up with the sweet peas so many flowers I cut the tops off hoping they will shoot again. That's it I am not going to all that bother next year..

Re: RPresta

Goodness RP. Water is precious here, one would not think so with all the rivers, not enough money or sometimes the room to build large containment areas. I do sprinkle some parts but very often there is a ban even on hoses. That is a nightmare. Once we had a tall water tower and that was sufficient for the town. I expect it has grown at least 50 times larger.

Re: Kabu

I have a big Australian type hat Kabu. Plenty of suncream and from 5 a.m  to 9a.m.  It is OK. I have always been use to being outside, but I definitely will plan it different next year. Also i have picked the gooseberries which Archie always claims, I'll tell him the birds had them. Call this a break it makes me sweat.

Just as well you stop and come into blogit for a break. I am worried about you watering out in all that heat. is why I keep my garden size under a size |I can enjoy not just all work.

Keep the heat there please, we have it just right here Bro.

Glad it cooled off. Hard to think if it being so hot there. Why don't you get an automated sprinkler system? Or a hose with holes that irrigates? Sounds like a pleasant tale of a boy with his dad! True?

I cannot think of it being so terribly steamy in the UK - I think of it

as coastal with sea breezes - similar to the climate range in Seattle. This week I have been so homesick for the Pacific Northwest - I cannot remember it ever getting up to 90 degrees there for days at a time and staying hot all night, too.  First day I ever set foot in this neck of the woods, I thought I'd come into the tropics, a steamy jungle.  I hope your sweet peas don't frustrate you too much.
