Yes a good description some rush to refill it with a substitute. But some just ache. Really good poem.

you have my own heart aching with fear and impending loss; maybe?? Our Wiley is weaker all the time, his memory has lapses he talks very little to me so that I am grateful for the gardens to keep me busy and grateful for friends to contact on the internet. Yes your wonderful poem has struck a chord in me... Are you getting me ready for what may be?

It's easy to write about, 30 years later. Dig back through buckets of old emotions, dig out a memory, and paint it in your mind, the draw it with words. does that make sense? Sounded good when I thought it!  lol

Ah, Ray, so achingly, beautifully and hauntingly told. She would be so proud of you; is so proud of you. But I'm sure she wouldn't want you to hurt. It's just heart-breaking, but that's a great poem/song, Cowboy.
