I would have suggested asking your daughter if you can borrow her husband for a few hours one day? Maybe ask for it as a gift. But if not... maybe you can google how to do it yourself? Or make friends with a handy looking neighbor... :)

That's why I sold my house and moved into an apartment twenty plus years ago. I love maintenance men who come quickly when needed.

Well it is probably not too late, you could get a nice man who owns his own house.
Or a friend who might be pleased to do a few repairs for a cooked dinner.
You do seem to be put on quite a bit of the time, but it is no use keep bodging things up.
If you can I would try and save to have one thing at a time fixed properly. Think more of yourself.
