I was never a hippie but I embraced and today still embrace the love not hate, the share not greed for me, the inclusion instead of the animosity and separatism that has replaced such gentle and peaceful ideals. I never needed drugs or to separate myself from the World, and yes I was a busy mother and a working one.

What I remember most was the people I knew shared a total tolerance for others. People could "do their thing" as long as they hurt no one, whether they became suits and skirts later, or sadly blew their minds out.

In 1967 I had four little sons and a very straight-laced husband and the activities that go with both. I had no time for flower children except for trying to keep up with my sister who had a bent for that sort of thing.
