I do aplogize for the tone of my comment - it wasn't meant to be confrontational, but I guess it came across as such.

Re: Naut
I suspect a man who was brought up in the faith, memorized the Koran and lived in the region until his late 20s, who studied comparative religions at the Sorbonne, knows chapter and verse about this topic. Who knows, such a scholar might even teach you one or two things. And I really don't like the confrontational tone of your visit to my blog. Please don't do it again.

Very interesting. I wonder whether this Tunisian convert to Christianity is familar with Yusuf al-Qaradawi's statement: "If they [Muslims] had gotten rid of the punishment [often death] for apostasy, Islam would not exist today."
Several years ago, Egyptian textbooks for high school students contained this: "...any Muslim, without permission of the ruler, can kill and barbeque a murtad [apostate] and eat him." That my not happen in practice, but you get the idea...
And his assertion that ISIS is a 'criminal offshot' of Islam is wrong - it follows the teachings of the Koran and the Hadiths (especially Bukhari) to the letter! And Linda's comparing the Klan to ISIS misses the point entirely...
I would have loved to be part of that session, since I really know what I'm talking about, although people might not have liked it...

I feel totally uplifted and suddenly in tune with the World. There are wonderful people in every society and whether he had converted or not, this seems from your writing to be someone you are all going to feel enriches your group

I love this!
The magic happens when people communicate with other people who are simply invested in living their lives. Some would call these the 'ordinary' people, but we are the foundation and the roots, and our strength is when we connect.
