No, I did not know that Charles VII was questioned about his throne being given to him by a 'peasant'.  But of course it is typical of the evil and predatory things going on at the time.  I know that you have been told that you were that peasant,  Joan of Arc,  but that you do not believe it.

But never mind that,  this is a cause for celebration,  because this is the first comment from you that I have received!  (or anyone else has received, that I know of).  I have left many comments in your posts,  but I had despaired of ever getting an answer.  I think you will get a lot more out of the Blogit experience,  if you address comments.  Plus,  it makes your readers feel more like reading and commenting more.  Cheers

Re: Naut

I agree and sad to see Paris is burning and france is falling apart.  Did you know that Charles VII was questioned about his throne by the aristocracy because a "peasant" gave him the throne. After all she did for France? To give France a king so that the English would not take over the country.  France needs fire back into its belly.

Ah yes,  thanks for reminding me of Charles Martel,  the Frank.  A pity that the French do not remember him and his great battle against the Muslim jihad in 732.  Most of the French probably never heard of him.  And yet,  their country,  culture,  religion (or lack of it),  and way of life would not even exist today,  without the bravery of Charles Martel.

And of course,  I wish that Marine Le Pen would have won the election.  Any small victory is worthwhile,  against the Muslim advance.  Indeed,  it may have sparked other victories,  in a synergistic chain of events.  But I fear that,  over the long course,  it would have made little difference.

Sorry I didn't drop in earlier - haven't been around much at Blogit at all. I still think it would made a difference had Marine Le Pen won, not just for France but the other European countries as well. It would have encoraged the other resistance movements, that do exist, and that are being decried as 'Far Right' and 'Nazis' by the Euro Pols and the media. And when we are looking at history, let's not forget Charles Martel (Carolus Martellus, Charlemagne's Grandfather), the Frank (they weren't Les Francais then), who, together with others from across Europe, including Pagans from across the Rhine, beat the Muslims at Tours-Poitiers in 732 and thus stopped their further advance into Europe. Had he not succeeded, Christianity might have have been extinguished in all of EWurope, as it nearly was in Spain...

And perhaps France's current problem with arrogant and belligerent and destructive Muslims is their karma,  payback for 800 years of slaughtering those who do not believe the same in France,  if there is such a thing as karma.....

That is interesting that you have that history in your family.  I remember from my studies how Elizabeth tried to help the poor Huguenots,  to move some of them out of France to England,  and she had some limited success.  Other Huguenots got stranded in the port cities of France,  and met with terrible ends.

I can prove that my ancestors on my dad's side fled from the Low countries to England during the extermination Huegonaut years in Elizabeth 1st. reign. 500 years ago. The Queen gave these people sanctuary in Canterbury and to this day the chapel in the basement of the Cathedral is theirs to use.
