I was also tortured by friends for my one winged dove lyric... they could not stop laughing... it never occurred to me that a "one-winged" dove can't fly... LOL and it generated a lot of new lyrics... just like a one winged dove... sings a song and crashes into a building... ooh ooh ooh... LOL

Have you heard the song? Lol. YouTube it And let me know. I stand by my lyric. Lol. funniest part of the story is I was played this song by my ex at one point as a romantic gesture and was like, huh?? Totally didn't get it. Hahaha

Tons of botched ones for me. The Rascals, Groovin' - I thought it was "...you and me and Leslie." It's: ...you and me, endlessly." And then there's the person I know who thought that Hall 'n Oats was "Haulin' Oats... LOL!

hahaha... I'm guilty on the CCR song.
My favorite botched lyrics for myself are Stevie Nicks... "just like the one winged dove...." and the Black Crowes.... "mama I'm so hard to hanna now a homina... "
and one of my best: Zac Brown Band... "you gobble deviled eggs" when it really says "you got whatever it is." I still stand by this one. LOL
