hmmmmm....well.... my son used to have a golden retriever. He loved to run. I was walking him once and he took off running. I didn't feel like being dragged and let go. It took a while and the help of a friend of my son to get him back home.

A couple years ago, I was on The Trail. A woman had her pit bull without a leash. She went into one of the spot-a-pots. The dog waited in front of the other one. I had to use the other one, but the dog was in the way. "Scooch on over," I said. The dog did.

Son #1 had a dog he loved--collie/golden retriever mixture. When son went away to the US Navy, I took over walking her. She was a bit overweight because I had no idea how little a big dog should be fed. I walked her in the park and the first half she pulled me along as it was downhill. The second half, uphill, she had to be pulled along. Thanks to The Dog Whisperer, I now know more about the care and training of dogs.
