Re: sis sam

How I wish that you too, a fine poetess that you are, write in your usual great style. The various structures that you used to tell was a great learning for us readers. I feel happy that you like my explanations.

Re: Aba

Hat's off dear Presta, I am hearing after a long time. This was a term a former Blogitville member, ElysianFields, used to say, her's was the Texan hat. I was just reminded her very effusive appreciation, and so is yours too. Quite similar. I am glad that you have such huge interests in Classics. Tnx a ton.

Re: ,C C T

I love to picturize the way they lived, their habits, and of course the message these masters left for posterity. I try to make these come alive. Thank you so much C C T.

I like the fact that it came from a specific experience! Also, it was written near Dante's home and I think it might be a 'tip of the hat' so to speak because it is written in terza nina, the same as Dante's "Divine Comedy" although he did modify it a bit! And I like the structural symmetry of the poem as well! Again, you did a wonderful job with your explanation! KUDOS! Your Sis

Aba

Wow! My hat's off to you, Aba, for this wonderful insight into Shelley's "Ode..." He and Alighieri, and anyone else who can compose a terza rima (or any other structured poetic form, for that matter) with such ease and skill without it sounding forced, puts me in a state of awe! Thank you again, so much, for sharing your vast knowledge of the Classics with us.

Yes I quite liked Shelley, It was of course a Romantic period, not much of it around in my back yard. Sometimes it takes longer than one imagine for artists to be truly remembered. You make a fine job of of the finer aspects.

every poem written should be read aloud to gain maximine enjoyment and or understanding.

I recently had a friend buy 'Chumpet' and I knew he probably would find poetry difficult so I emailed him to read the poems aloud...he repied Thanks...just about finished the book now you tell me and will have to start again.
