When my girls were small, I saved the baskets for the next year. They never cared; they were more interested in the contents of said baskets...

but that was life back when. One did re use stuff. I always had the same Christmas stocking, and if Mother hid the egg we each recieved(only one) it was always in the same spot. didn't need a basket.
sis and |I had a very happy childhood. We were loved and nobody had many 'things.'

We still use the same baskets, and woe it is if one of my kids notices that his/her ex-basket was handed off to someone else!

We have a slightly different problem. My LSW can't bring herself to decapitate or otherwise disfigure artfully formed chocolate bunnies and such. The result is that late in the summer, after the chocolate has turned grey the way it does after a while, she suddenly remembers and eats them since the beauty has worn off; but so has the flavor, of course...

I always saved the baskets and stored them in the attic to use the same ones every year. My sons did not care as long as they had a goodly amount and variety of candies.
