Man is the greatest destroyer of Nature. Probably, one day the word sylvan will go out of the dictionary, paintings will remind of what once was.

It has been a while since I have heard a woodpecker, but I never really heard them much in the first place where I live.

It's a melancholy thought, and a sad fact. I guess we can be glad for the trees and natural open spaces we have seen, and those that still remain. Happy Easter to you.

It's sad! We've had a similar experience; when we bought this house it was at the edge of town, and I used to go for runs along a country lane close by...Now it's paved, flanked by houses and hasbecome the main street of a large subdivison. And it's called Country Lane...

Lately I 've been thinking, I need more green...
Forest-bathing--I forget the Japanese word for it--is a thing, good for the heart and the soul.

Why is it people seek to erase the wilds?
For some reason I'm hearing the song "Blowin in the Wind."

That is so sad, TAPS. When I first moved here, I was alone in the bush and my doggies and other creatures could roam wherever they wanted all day or night. Now there are too many houses being built around, and the land seems to get smaller and smaller.
