You're right, Ciel.

Most people talk about retiring to the south - my choice would be Iceland.

Re: RPresta,

The great maple is a sea of green that always lifts my heart when it returns, even though it blocks the view from the deck of Pike's Peak. In the autumn, it is briefly, wonderfully bright yellow, and after a while I have the mountain back.

Re: Kabu,

Our yard's lawn is pretty sparse with more weedy bits than grass, and when the heat and dryness come, it won't be much of anything.

Re: adnohr,

When I flew over eastern Canada coming back from England, it was still most definitely still the Great White North! I thought at the time that you'd be enjoying it!

Re: TAPS,

We have the same problem with wasps every year. They are always hovering around, and crawling under the wood shingles on the mansard roof of this building. Last year we hung traps around, and they did help quite a bit.

Birds are a delight, and now and then I remember they used to be dinosaurs, which makes them even more interesting. As far as I know, wasps have just always been wasps.

I love reading about your birds.  Birds are so special.
Wasps have been trying to take over our porch deck.  They even get inside some way.  I'd much rather have birds.
