I take the reusable bags whenever I go to stores that don't have bags. The plastic bags I get are used to line small trash bins around the house and excess ones are taken to the food pantry. Those that are ripped or too small are then recycled at the grocery store.

Hard to get plastic around here, FSI, so now I buy them for my bathroom trash cans. Banning the bags didn't change the fact that I prefer to line my bathroom trash cans with plastic bags. It's a lose-lose situation... :)
