Sis wrote me back after I sent her your post.  Here is her answer:  "Too Late!  I dyed my hair this morning and sure enough, the L’Oreal “Triple Protection Color” I bought at Walmart contains the dreaded PPD.  I hope I’m not a goner, but if I am, I will bequeath you all my worldly goods.

I wondered why the FDA continues to allow it to be sold and so I Googled:  "FDA’s ability to take action against coal-tar hair dyes associated with safety concerns is limited by law” (and goes on to elaborate how they can get by with selling it if they include cautionary advice)."

I sent this to my sister who told me yesterday that she was going to dye her hair one more time before giving it up for good.

Wow! Thank you! I don't color my hair right now, but sure have in the past! What brands on the market, do you know, are free of that chemical? I want to tell my friends and family.
