I loved rewarding them for things they did without being asked! I got my son very good once! I had a rural paper route so I drove a beater and the muffler kept coming off! My youngest son was in middle school at the time! His father wouldn't fix so he repaired it every time! And one day I brought home a bicycle he had had his eye for some time! I rang the bell because he was down to the creek building a club house over it! When he came up I told him about the muffler! Like a good son he went right over to fix it! But, the bike was parked where he would have gone to fix the muffler! He scream with such joy it brought tears to my eyes! sam

I think that I could write a list from here to where you are. I didn't really enjoy them until they went to school...but there were social isolation factors involved with that for I adored having the little ones around me as a Grandmother. But when my boys started school everything about them was fun... and they were mine and I was theirs and the three of us would sit in one chair, even when they were teenagers and bigger than me.

Ciel

Being there. Just being present. Loving them. Also the same as you, the teaching aspect, along with the introduction of new experiences, which often accompanies the teaching aspect.

Hugs. Kisses. Smiles. Giggles.

There were times, standing at the crib or the bedroom door

when I watched them sleep. Little angels, safely tucked in. At that moment all was right with the world.
