I don't know when the Brits said that (Gain the hearts and minds and no gun shots will occur). It didn't work out that way in the American Revolution, War of 1812, WW1, WW2. I guess it just goes to show how difficult it is to gain hearts and minds. Hang in there, stay strong, pray..... whether you believe in it or not. Maybe just ignore your tormentors, even when they are hurting you? I really have no idea what to suggest.....
