It makes me feel pretty small to think about how very small is our Earth in comparison to all that is out there in the endlessness of space.  I love the information and photos that Hubble gives us.

I'll be by to read this and a couple back issues Naut, but my head's

been too foggy to attempt reading. There's such exciting news about earth-like planets and only a couple hundred thousand years away from us, but my favorite TV science nerds are in their glory. I've been so out of it I haven't even had coffee for a couple of days. Once I get the old brain kick-started, I'll be back.  Cheers.

Good question, RP, but I think there's a simple answer. I was quoting the report written by someone at NASA/Caltech, who was exercising the proper scientific caution journalists are not known for. And it was probably one of those who turned the 'possibility' into 'fact' in the report you read...

Yes, it was on the news here. I'm interested to know your report states the planets may be tidally locked, because our local news reported that they are tidally locked. Glad to know how long it would take to get there. No one had said...

A very fascinating discovery this is. It is hard to fathrom something like that being that far away.

Well it seems there are thousands of possible Earth type planets and they go on forever. I don't think we need worry too much about anything it makes one feel like one is a microbe.
