They are beautiful. I have one that's still young, but here it's too early for them to stir! Mind you, today we had 50 in the shade under a cloudless sky - I was tempted to wear shorts when I took Bennie to the park. But there's still far too much snow, 10" deep in parts, and I didn't quite feel up to wearing shorts with my boots...

Re: TAPS
"One Day at a Time..." I really understand what that means and take time to appreciate my surroundings. Things (like politics) that I can't do anything about, I just let them go.

Well we are usually a month behind you Taps, but I notice the tulip bulbs are pushing through, It always seems to dump a few cold days here at the beginning of March so we shall see.

I haven't noticed anything budding here, but I do know
there are sugar ants getting in now and then, usually a warm weather irritation.

The tree sounds beautiful. And you are right, change is in the wind.

You're right - there is change in the wind. This year we have plenty of snow, which made me smile lots and lots! I have a feeling our winters will be getting warmer too. Because of all this climate change talk, I'm wondering if my grandkids will be able to enjoy a real Canadian winter when they reach my age.

A neighbor told me her daffodils are popping up already
We're having that same dry, really warm winter; so very strange for the Midwest! I have a friend who thinks this part of the world will eventually be as a desert and that is what we're seeing; the slow but sure transformation from farm/food lands and source to hot, drought stricken and barren earth - kind of scary but I guess that is the reality of climate change.

We had an exceptional winter with lots of snow in the valley but it's all gone now! The brunt of the snow was in the mountains. I didn't pay much attention to it until today when my son told me that an avalanche took out the road to their cabin! There's a creek near their property and he is fearful that it may be flooded! It will be another 2 months before they can get up there providing the road gets repaired! Their cabin is on a private road and all the owners will need to chip in if their road needs repairs! May not be good for him in the long run! sam

I can't believe all the snow you have had is 4" We get that much on a quiet eveninf when not much falls. We have had an enormous amount this year.
