I loved the JURASSIC PARK book. Couldn't put it down. Was a bit disappointed in the movie because it left out things in the book. But that is always the way. True what you say about "just because we can".

Scientists don't worry about ethical questioning. They are always pushing the boundaries in all directions...how else to explain the nuclear bombs.

that would be ideal to use to preserve but scientist are just that scientist...they investigate and see if they can do what has not been done before without worrying about the repercussion(s) on society.
