It looks like a few more nails in the coffin of Europe. The question now is can it be reversed? I like to think so, but it seems like every time we read a positive step, there is another story that either negates it or more than negates it.

I wonder how the female officials excused their betrayal. Oh, I know, they simply did not want to 'offend' their gracious Iranian hosts. So what is the big deal? Why are we all upset? LOL

I don't think anyone should ever be forced to wear any type of attire, symbols, signs, etc., which one considers to be offensive. However, I did look at an old photo of my Italian g-grandmother (b. early 1850s), and I saw a woman wearing all black from head to foot, including a heavy black veil on her head. And, no, she wasn't a nun! LOL! It was, to her, an acceptable and proper mode of clothing, in part symbolizing her widowhood; the difference being it was a social norm, and not a political or religious statement. Oh yeah, when was this? 1930s!
