Go to Life in the fast lane--where's the on ramp?

- Go to Moonbeams and Lollypops
A mirror of what most of us had as children, no doubt. Makes me wonder if that is why I have a problem getting rid of stuff I no longer need.

We lived simple but well.
growing up on the farm we never went hungry, plain healthy food. Milk and mutton from the farm, veggies from the garden. Home made jam and cream on bread all the healthy stuff.
We didn't have unnecessary trappings in the house, more like a new tractor. LOL.

Pat
Another interesting trip down memory lane...And that old lady's saying reflects an article of faith held by many, even though it's of course wrong, as articles of faith usually are...

I never forget when an Aunt stayed with us the first time we had our tea. She asked me,'Are we allowed to have another cup of tea. My Mum told me when she was little her aunt took her to see two spinsters their clothes were made of all different pieces of cloth,
the Aunt told Mum that they were run down gentry two maids who never made it in the marriage stakes. After that they visited another elderly lady and were offered refreshments a glass of water and a slice of bread and lard. My Mum said she shuddered
she hate that horrible lard . So she refused it. She was grumbled at all the way home and told she must not put on airs. A bit before your time Pat but your log brought it back.
