Wow! I'm blown away. Beautiful poem, painful story. Great contrast. Great explanation. Reminds me of the last boss I ever had. Her fiance had been killed on a peace mission many years before.

IThank you for the explanation ...but the poem really can stand alone . Superb.
I once knew a young man he was an Anglian Priest who longed for a full life.
He had skin cancer, melanoma which ate away his face and into his intestines and brain. i asked him once how he always managed to be so calm...
He told me...'I go out by myself and I throw stones and rocks at God. made sense to me; as does this poem.
