as a Mother of sons and grandmother of young men this really hits the emotions hard. I don't understand why youngsters are eager to go to war. actually do anything to risk their life.

Even today young men think there is glory in war in England in the First World War, there were villages where all of the young men were just wiped out. 20 years later it was the same pattern. It is the mother's and wives who carried the burden for ever.

This touches all hearts, I think. The agony that dear woman suffered is unspeakable. War is ugly, but this side is little acknowledges. Thank you again for a story and poem that reaches the soul. So nicely done.
