But here is a sobering thought.....

What if this star system that exploded had planets,  and what if those planets were inhabited?  Then we will be watching the funeral pyre of living creatures,  maybe even intelligent,  and a lot of them.  Like in Star Wars when the Death Star destroyed the capital planet of the Republic,  and the billions of victims cried out,  and it was felt by Obi Wan Kenobi across the galaxy......

I am sure that it is going to be quite a sight for us to finally see five years from now. I will keep it in mind.

Fascinating: hope I get to see it.

I expect there'll be an adventure thriller about astronauts and this red nova featuring the Star Wars cast or at least Harrison Ford...

Well I hope we are all here to learn of the event Naut. I just wonder who started year 1.

The Aunts said my Dad had a Roman nose perhaps one of his ancestors met a lady of ill repute.

Re: Nautikos

Hope you don't mind, I wrote a poem based on this post. I will remove it, if you wish. I don't want to plagiarize.

I wonder if our solar system will feel any of the aftereffects?

Nautikos

Dance of death, binary pair, merged atmosphere, stellar merging explosion, spiral ending, red nova - all so poetic sounding! I may have to post it! LOL! And interesting. And perhaps it will happen soon than in 5 years, if the speed increases exponentially? Just a thought.

I see that you have spent your time trying to recooperate by studying interesting science and astronomy and things.

But this thing that we are waiting to watch happen actually happened hundreds of years ago. Wow!
