and why shouldn't you do exactly what you want. Your friends here love you and will read and enjoy whatever you write...I do agree though, sometimes it is a good iead to explain where you thoughts are coming from in a poem.

I find it interesting to read the backstories behind one's writing. It tells us a lot.

Most of the times there is a story behind each poem we write. That's what make great poems an interesting read.

How fun! Indeed, I would love to know the story behind many poems. Robert Burns' brother did that posthumously in an old old book I have of his poems. Just little notes but those, along with the "English" translation, make them all the more enjoyable. Look forward to it. I sometimes annotate my poems.
