Re: Annicita

I was sooo tempted to add a picture of one here. They are fascinating, though some parts of the story, in truth, are a bit of Victorian myth.

I have never heard of that pattern or type of sweater.  I know the Irish are known for their beautiful sweaters.

Re: Aba

Hi Aba! Thank you. It is just a beautiful story I read of, and the people of Aran, back in the day of hand-knitted sweaters.

Re: Nautikos

Thank you, Naut! As I had mentioned to Kabu, their story fascinated me and I found it worth a try at a poem.

Re: Kabu

I was fascinated by the story! Thank you, dear Kabu! Imagine what it must have been like for those who did knit them.

Re: C_C_T

You are precisely right. Still, it makes a good story, to me. Thank you.

I can imagine years since a sea washed fisherman could have been identified as you have suggested. There is a certain near romantic associations attributed to such garments. I suppose they are knocked up in dozens these days, but I am sure you were thinking of the human endeavor and the commitment.Facts I did not know. I must nip around and wake everyone up.
