Well my father was just the opposite he gave me too much, of course times were different it had disasterous results. I guess your Dad did not think about how you felt and obviously you wanted to love him but it as impossible.

Time is more valuable in so many ways...
My mother had a similar approach in dealing with my brother and I.

sometimes money is what is needed if you can't be there to help but I know when I was pregnant my parents were there to do whatever they could to help...physically help.

I expect you will want to murder me but I just cannot hate your Dad. He might have behaved strangely but he could have been far worse. I know we have to agree with each other or we are stigmatized. Remember A. he was not a woman and did not have that compassionate insight.

I know of a few family members who are that way. They just throw a few bucks to "help."
