How horrible. Write the stories out love because that does help. it doesn't bring me down, if I want to really get depressed I watch a bit of news.

That is a horrible thing to say to a person, especially one's own child. I am curious to see the details of the other stories you will be sharing with us.

It is all very sad A,If I had to think of a nice thing about your Father, He did give you the money and I expect it was hard times. Also although it seemed cruel to you, if he had not spoken it would have been OK. Perhaps at his work little quotes of sarcasm was the trend. Of course I don't know if he abused you,which would be a different matter. Humans are complicated at the best of times.

Thank you for sharing this painful story. With an abusive parent it is important to remember that the "child" has done no wrong, and something many don't realize is that the need for parental approval never diminishes. Having said that, some relationships can be healed, but not all. Cruelty like you describe must have been deep-seated. I look forward to reading your posts as you work through your feelings. Bless you. I am sorry for that pain.

Some people just seem to have a need to belittle other people. It makes me remember my favorite verse of my favorite poem:
