Re: RPesta
Yes I wonder if the combination of all those children kept marriages together . Not that it did the woman any favours health-wise.
Humans need affection one way or another. When a woman has just one child or two, if she lavishes them affection, the some males may think subconsciously that the reason for marriage is different to what they believed. Lions seem to think so.

I think big families are great! My family's ancestors each had more than 10 children. But a Mom has to be healthy enough for that many! Today, it's not practical. I had a friend who was the oldest girl of 13. I watched/helped her prep lunch for her sibs! Took a loaf of bread, laid all the slices out, slathered on mayo from a huge jar, and assembly-line style added luncheon meats, and so on and so forth. It was not hard, just different!

Re: Annicita
Goodness A. You would need a Town hall if you held a party for all the relations.

Kudos on the poem! I have no idea why anyone would want 10 children! Makes me quiver just thinking about it! sam

It would make for a lovely crowd later on, if ten kids and
their families all came for the holiday. Just think of all the hand-me-down clothes and toys that could be recycled, the number of great family stories. (As for me, six was plenty.)

I cannot imagine having ten children. I say this as someone who would be happy with five or so...So that is how the love game is played.
