ReCiel

I did think she might stick it out for a while. I usually get a fat pay packet every month. Enough to feed a hedgehog. Ironically some sites I never visit but they are pretty dead.Yes journal is leaning over the wall and chatting to one's neighbour, always popular.

You inspired me

to go look at the new blogs, which is how I generally find new bloggers. I did find SummerReas, and her blog led me to write my next one in my Universe blog.

When I was new here, I thought the pennies were important. Had to give up that idea pretty quick, but I do think of them as I read my favorites here, and share out my pennies to each one. One reason I chose the 5 blog option is to have more pennies to share. My own accumulate at the rate of sometimes just a few per day, but they do accumulate over time. Maybe it would be more gratifying only to check on them once a week or twice a month.

What length post I'll read is often determined by the quality of the writing. For instance, I look forward to Pat's lengthy excursions into the past which are always a pleasure to read the whole way through. I enjoy writers' autobiographical stuff, getting to know and care about them. I think journals are very popular reads here on Blogit.

Re: LT

I wonder as I have heard there were wars a plenty in those olden days. Perhaps you would rather be loved than scorned.

Re: Katray

I know what you mean Kat, I think when you first joined there were many hopefuls.

Sadly trash is in vogue.

Re: CCT

You'll do alright RP. Yes Moonshine as it is called is more or less pure alcohol, It definitely needs to be diluted. Not for ladies of discretion.

Ah, you remind me I need to learn how to abridge the ode, CC! LOL! I never have tasted moonshine, is it quite harsh? Interesting poem, there!

The  after affects of the moonshine are reflected in the poetry. LOL

I feel for new bloggers here, too. They see a site looks like it is going to lead them to the promise land when it comes to writing, but really, it is a social networking site. I do like that with Blogit, but I think many come here for the response and/or cash.

Reading about the panties on the clothesline reminds me of my father telling how he and his friends used to steal panties from the clothesline and put them in unlocked cars. I wonder how many marriages he and his friends ended.

Good point, CCT - about keeping it short and to the point.

We're not as limited as for a tweet,
but long elaborate rambles are not sweet
they tire the eye and comprehension.
Weighty tomes cause apprehension.

Entertaining bargaining, CCT...:)

Some newbies learn as they go, enjoy and continue on, others don't; part of the reason could be the initial level of interest in writing and being read; determination is a strong wing. Well that was the case for myself 13 years ago. Then I began making friends, developing relationships so there was and is an insistent pull to return.
